About The Revenue Assurance Academy

The Revenue Assurance Academy (RAA) was established in 1990 to serve employees of wireline, wireless, satellite, cable, internet, content, WiFi and other types of communications service providers, as well as the employees of consulting, hardware and software organizations. We strive to provide a single, comprehensive source of information about the professional practice of Revenue Assurance in the telecommunications and related industries. In order to further this aim, RAA became the official training group for the Global Revenue Assurance Professional Association (GRAPA) in 2007. RAA is supported by the tuitions charged for training classes.

The academy provides a unique combination of workshop-style classes and in-depth subject matter, creating an innovative learning experience for anyone in the telecommunications revenue assurance industry.

Diverse and Complex Training Needs

We have found that simple theory- and lecture-based classes leave students with far too little of what they need to solve complex Revenue Assurance challenges within their own organizations. Therefore, our goal is to introduce students to all of the practical and application skills needed for the challenging and fast-paced world of Revenue Assurance. Revenue Assurance is a discipline that requires its practitioners to understand and master:

With such a broad range of topics to cover, it is critical for the Revenue Assurance professional to integrate these diverse concepts and disciplines into a cohesive management style.

Unique Teaching Style

To provide students with the combination of incredibly technical sophistication across a broad range of narrowly defined topics, while at the same time helping them to integrate that information across an equally broad range of political, financial, operational and organizational domains, the Revenue Assurance Academy has developed a teaching style that combines:

bulletTechnical Detail
bulletOrganizational and Operational Consequences
bulletFinancial and Investment-Based Analysis
bulletReturn on Investment-Based Decision Making
bulletEstablishment and Maintenance of High Professional Standards

Revenue Assurance Academy classes are more than simply lecture sessions where the students show up and “watch the show.” RAA classes are participative and interactive. Students are expected to:

bulletResearch current practices at their own organizations
bulletFill out benchmarks and questionnaires prior to attending the class
bulletParticipate in discussions
bulletParticipate in problem solving workshops throughout the class

In exchange for this effort on their part, students are provided with:

bullet Real world examples they can relate to that allow them to apply what is learned to their work situation
bullet A vocabulary and dialog with peer professionals in order to create a sense of professional identity and assurance
bullet Clear, specific deliverables that apply to real world situations

The Revenue Assurance Academy provides more than classes… it provides learning experiences and most importantly PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
